With office in Edinburgh Wind Estate (UK) was established in 2015 with a focus on the development of Onshore wind projects across Scotland. We have a proven track record plus a portfolio of 1GW under development and continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the UK’s renewable energy targets.

As Senior Development Manager you will be responsible for leading primarily Wind  Estate’s greenfield and brownfield development and partnerships as well as involvement in M&A’s activities within onshore wind, solar and batteries in England and Wales. You will be reporting to the Head of Development UK but tightly connected to the rest of Wind Estate’s senior management team (CDO, COO, CFO, Business Development Director). You will be leading and representing Wind Estate’s activities in England and Wales but have colleagues to spar with in Edinburgh, Scotland as well as in our HQ in Randers, Denmark.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead & represent Wind Estate’s activities in England and Wales.
• Identification of new Greenfield developments, incl. detailed site design, assessing wind/solar resources and energy yield calculations, grid connection solutions at both DNO and NEGT level etc.
• Take the lead on commercial negotiations with landowners/agents and overseeing due diligence, securing project/land rights.
• Preparing reports with planning, technical and commercial input on development opportunities
• Working with Planning Managers to deliver projects through to planning consent.
• Participating in community and political stakeholder engagements.
• Research, identify and propose Brownfield opportunities to Wind Estate’s senior management.
• Establish close partnerships with relevant stakeholders to support us in expanding our presence/activities in the English and Welsh market.
• Negotiate and secure suitable Brownfield projects partnerships in line with our strategy, investment plans etc.
• Gather & review information to assess risk and implement risk mitigation measures.
• Reporting and managing a portfolio of projects and presenting opportunities to senior management and Board.

Qualifications
• 10+ years of project development and/or -management experience from the energy or infrastructure sectors in the UK, or potential with a financial background from investors or banks, supporting such projects.
• Strong record in commercial contract negotiations, multi-faced stakeholder management and the like.
• Deep understanding of energy markets, and the policies, regulations and EPC processes governing these markets.
• Experience across different renewables technologies or different types of infrastructure projects, including an international business mindset.
• Proficient in building up own and seeing through/assessing others’ business cases.

• Indirect leadership: With solid attention to detail, and experience of being handson in projects you can oversee and drive key project decisions. You keep on top of key activities and conversations to drive project progress.
• Self-motivated, self-planned independent – while excelling in collaboration across internal disciplines using business understanding and simplicity in communication to create relevant conclusions and buy-in from stakeholders.

Location is either homebased, England or Edinburgh, Scotland. Up to 20 days a year of
international travelling must be expected.
